How to alter the number of results (and other settings) using Google Search
By Jim Bryan
After reading about ten bazillion articles about Hub pages, traffic strategies, etc, I submitted to my own vanity/anxiety and searched for my own articles on Google. I was surprised (and excited) to find that some showed up on the front page. Since I am fairly new at this (and my hypocrisy extends only so far), I wasn't expecting top placement, but I wanted to see about where I was in the grand scheme of things, especially some of the lower rated articles--they are my "babies" sort of, and I want them all to do well, get into a good school, have a great career, marry a...oh never mind--without having to click through ten pages.
Google and Yahoo both default at a measly ten results per page, but with a few clicks of a mouse you can change that to 20, 30, 50, even 100 results. It only takes about a minute and you can always change it back.
Step one: Click on "Settings" in the upper right-hand corner of the Google search page.
Step two: Click on "Search settings" in the drop down menu (this will take you to the "Preferences" page).
Step three: Scroll down the page until you see a row entitled "Number of Results" click the drop down menu and choose the number of results. You can also change several other options on this page, if you like.
Step four: Once you have changed the settings to your satisfaction, scroll to the top or bottom of the "Preferences" page and click the button on the right-hand side of the page labeled "Save Preferences."
That's it, you can now check the placement of any Hub (or similar article) in Google Search as it relates to a search term or simply get more results to choose from while researching.

Glad you liked the Hub Karen, and thanks for your comment.
I consider myself pretty savvy but I completely missed this one - guess I wasn't spending enough time pondering how annoying this is. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks Rope.
It's not just the annoyance factor for me, it's also a better way to view certain data.
